Meraki MR70 AP
PDF Downloads
The MR70 is a basic rugged access point ideal for rapid deployment and or low-density deployments that requires a weather-proof access point but does not need dedicated security or Bluetooth Low Energy radios. The antennas are internal and omni-directional for a stable radius for access.
This rugged access point is built with IP67 seal rating and is totally protected against dust and water-proof (up to 1 meter full submersed!) It has been tested for shock, vibration, and moisture. Use it indoors, outdoors, and from -4°F to 131°F.
The MR20 has two radios: a 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n/ac client access radio and a 5 GHz 802.11a/n/ac Wave 2 client access radio. Combined, they have a theoretical maximum dual aggregate frame rate of 1.3Gbps. The primary power supply comes from Power-over Ethernet or it is 802.3af PoE compatible.
While there is no security and WiFI tracking radio and no Bluetooth radio like the other Meraki access points, the MR20 is still equipped with WIPS. WIPS (Air Marshal) is a built-in wireless intrusion prevention system for threat detection and attack remediation. It has flexible guest access with device isolation so guests can only access the Internet. This access point also has an integrated Layer 7 firewall with mobile device policy management for further protection.
Lastly, when using a Meraki access point, you get one of the easiest to use and deploy access points on the market. All security updates, bug fixes, configurations, and more are handled through a cloud-based interface, the Meraki Dashboard. And because the device is self-configuring and managed over the web, it can even be deployed at a remote location in a matter of minutes without an on-site IT staff.
